Società Chimica Italiana

Founded in 1909

The Società Chimica Italiana, established as a non-profit organization by Royal Decree No. 480/1926, is a scientific association, based in Rome, with over six thousand seven hundred members. Its members carry out their activities in universities and research institutions, schools, industries, public and private research and testing laboratories, and in private practice.

They are united not only by their interest in chemical science but also by their desire to contribute to the cultural and economic growth of the national community, improve the quality of human life, and protect the environment.

The Società Chimica Italiana purpose is to promote the study and progress of chemistry and its applications, and in particular:

  • to foster and increase scientific research in all fields of chemistry;
  • to disseminate knowledge of chemistry and the importance of its applications for the progress and well-being of humanity;
  • to promote and encourage the study of chemistry in universities and schools of all levels;
  • to promote and encourage the study of chemistry in universities and schools of all levels;
  • to promote the development of science in every field.

 

To achieve these goals, and without profit, the Società Chimica Italiana promotes publications, studies, investigations, and events, including through its peripheral bodies (Sections, Divisions) and interdivisional groups.
