IChO 2028: Minister Valditara Meets President Mondello
The President of the Società Chimica Italiana, Prof. Luigi Mondello, was received on June 30th at the Ministry of Education and Merit by Minister Giuseppe Valditara for a meeting dedicated to the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO), which will take place in Messina in 2028. The meeting was also attended by Senator Nino Germanà from Messina.
During the discussion, the value of the initiative was highlighted. It will bring students, mentors, observes, and delegations from all over the world to Messina, strengthening Italy’s role in promoting chemical knowledge among the new generations.
Minister Valditara expressed his appreciation for the project and the work of the Società Chimica Italiana, confirming the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the event’s organizational process.
President Mondello thanked the Minister for the attention given to the initiative: “Hosting the International Chemistry Olympiad 2028,” emphasized Mondello, “is an important recognition for the Italian chemical community and a precious opportunity to promote talent, education, and research. Messina and Sicily will be at the center of a major international event, capable of enhancing Italy’s role in the scientific landscape and bringing more and more young people closer to chemistry and STEM disciplines.”
